Ministry Teams

(explained from the By Laws)

8.01 The following Ministry Teams are hereby created:

1. Finance Ministry Team– The Finance Ministry Team will consist of those additional Members appointed by the Board of Directors, including a representative from Facilities and Program Ministry Teams. The Finance Ministry Team will be responsible for:

  1. Developing an annual budget based on the total ministry needs for the Camp,
  2. Assure integrity in the fiscal operation of the Camp,
  3. Track the financial support of the Camp,
  4. Set rates for utilization of Camp facilities,
  5. Will select own chairperson, not necessarily the Treasurer.

2. Nominating Ministry Team– The Nominating Ministry Team will be chaired by a Member of the Board of Directors and will be composed of such Members as appointed by the Board of Directors. The Nominating Ministry Team will present a list of nominees for various offices of the Board of Directors at the annual Camp meeting.

3. Program Ministry Team– The Program Ministry Team will be chaired by a Member of the Board of Directors and will be composed of such Members as appointed by the Board. This Ministry Team will be responsible for development of all Camp sponsored ministries and will secure workers for events, develop schedules and will be responsible for advertising and conducting these events.

4. Planning and Vision Ministry Team– The Planning and Vision Ministry Team will be chaired by a Member of the Board of Directors and will be composed of such Members as appointed by the Board of Directors. This Ministry Team will be responsible for long range planning and vision for the Camp and will prepare an annual report for presentation at the annual meeting regarding such matters as the Ministry Team deems appropriate.

5. Facilities Ministry Team– The Facilities Ministry Team will be chaired by a Member of the Board of Directors and will be composed of such Members as appointed by the Board of Directors. This Ministry Team will be responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and may retain a Facilities Manager for that purpose. This Ministry Team had prepared Facilities Rules for submission to the Board for approval; these rules had been appended as Exhibit “A” to these By-Laws. These Facilities Rules are now known as Lamar Lighthouse Campground Lease Requirements; this is now a separate document; it is mailed each year to cottage owners. The Facilities Ministry Team will prepare information and recommendations regarding the facilities for the Board of Directors’ consideration.

6. Promotion Ministry Team– The Promotion Ministry Team will be chaired by a Member of the Board of Directors and will be composed of such Members as appointed by the Board. The Promotion Ministry Team will promote the Camp throughout the region and will be responsible for promoting the availability of the Camp to other Christian and non-profit organizations*. [*e.g., involvement with area ministeriums, chambers of commerce, camping associations, …]
